After the semi-permanent makeup procedure, it's natural for swelling to occur, particulary lips and eyeliner procedures and depending on different skin types. Applying an ice pack to the treated area over 10 - 15 minutes will minimize swelling.
Color may appear darker immediately following the procedure.
Pigments usually scab after 3 - 5 days.
DO NOT scrub, pick, rub, wipe, scratch or cleanse the area. Use patting motion only, allow the scab to flake off naturally.
DO NOT peel or pick at scab, this could cause pigment loss, scarring and delayed healing. Keep area clean.
As the healing progresses, color will soften to it's true color. We recommend lightly rinsing your face and shower with low pressure water. No water on the treated area for one week.
Do not use any cosmetics over area while healing.
Do not expose to sun or tanning bed during healing period.
Do not swim in fresh, salt, chlorinated water for 2 weeks. Avoid strenuous activity for 2 days.
Use of sunblock after healing will help prevent premature fading.
Applying on a small amount of A&D ointment twice a day such as vaseline or pretrolatum can be used.
Cold Sores: Clients with a history of cold sores need to pre-medicate with an anti-viral drug (Zoviraz, Valtrex, or Acyclovir) prior to a lip coloring procedure.
Failure to follow post-procedure may cause loss of pigment, discoloration or infection.
Warning: Chlorine, exfoliation creams, and exposure to sun will cause color to fade.
